About the Artist

I'm a Maine-based pastel, charcoal and watercolor artist who paints portraits and figures of people and animals, as well as everyday objects and landscapes. Returning to my creative pursuits late in life, I am enjoying newfound freedom to follow my artistic instincts whenever the spirit moves me especially since retiring from the workaday world. I have received numerous awards in art shows in Massachusetts and Maine since 2015 and more recently some my work has been accepted into juried shows. A number of my works are held in private collections within the US and Costa Rica.

As an artist I'm curious about human attachment through cherished people, pets, objects, and places and am most at ease with my art when I am in sync with the creative process. My mission is to portray the depth of human emotion and expression in my work. I want my paintings to convey the wonder of life and the depth of beauty found in the ordinary.
