Description
This painting was inspired by a lovely photo of a rose, its delicate petals and shades of pink. Pink roses are used to express gentle emotions — admiration, joy, gratitude and deep or endless love. The light rosy color is often associated with femininity, so, naturally, the pink rose meaning is that of grace and sweetness. In mythology, the rose was sacred to Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty. It was also linked with Cupid, son of Venus and the Roman god of desire. In one myth, he dropped nectar and the nectar bubbled up from the ground as roses.
